YOUR ACCOUNT


DO I NEED TO SET UP AN ACCOUNT TO USE MY ZEEZ MASK?

No, your ZeeZ mask is designed to work without connection to the internet, bluetooth or an activated account. It is recommended however that you establish an account to stay up to date on the latest information and products, as well as to register your mask for warranty purposes.

MY MASK AND I


CAN I TRAVEL WITH THE ZEEZ Sleep Mask?

The mask is pliable but can get deformed when crammed into bulky luggage. ZEEZ has designed a travel case that makes it easy to pack the mask away and go. 

 

HOW LONG WILL THE BATTERY LAST?

The battery life of the CR2032 is approximately 150-200 hours.  Please note that the ZEEZ mask automatically turns itself off after pulsations are complete so that the battery is not using up power while you are sleeping/resting after the pulsation cycle.

WHEN WOULD I USE “BOOST” MODE?

During the day, when you start to feel down or tired, use your mask for 10-30 minutes as shown in the User Guide.  This will suppress Melatonin production and increase Serotonin production giving you energy. You can do this every 3 to 4 hours if you wish.  It is not recommended to use the mask within 3 hours of when you plan on going to bed.


HOW DOES ZEEZ WORK?

When properly applied, studies have shown the positive effects that light therapy can have on adjusting your internal body clock, also known as your circadian rhythm. Many factors can affect your circadian rhythm including sleep disorders, travel across different time zones and shift work. ZEEZ works to help you adjust your circadian rhythm to changing circumstances and timezones.


WHAT OTHER FACTORS AFFECT MY CIRCADIAN RHYTHM?

Many factors (e.g. alcohol, fitness, stress, etc.) can affect a person’s circadian rhythm. Consult your doctor for more information on how your specific conditions may apply.



TROUBLESHOOTING


MY ZEEZ SLEEP MASK WILL NOT TURN ON

  1. If this is your first use, make sure that the protective shield on the battery has been removed to activate the connection between the battery and the components. 
  2. Verify that the battery in use is the approved CR2032
  3. Switch out the additional battery provided to verify that this isn’t the problem.

 

If you have had your mask stored for a lengthy period of time, make sure the battery has been replaced and is securely inserted into the battery holder.

MY ZEEZ SLEEP MASK IS NOT RESPONDING WHEN I PRESS ANY OF THE SWITCHES?

Remove and replace the battery and follow the start-up sequence once the new battery is installed.

CARE AND CLEANING


HOW DO I CLEAN ZEEZ?

CAUTION: Do not use rubbing alcohol or any petroleum based cleaning product as it may damage the mask material and/or internal electronics.

CAUTION: Do not clean the LED lights with any liquid or damp cloth.

 

 


Turn the device off.
  1. Use an air blower device like a blow dryer or computer air cleaner to remove any particles and dust from around the LEDs.
  2. Clean ZEEZ exterior with a damp cloth. 
  3. Allow to dry completely prior to use.

HOW DO I KNOW THAT LED PHOTOTHERAPY IS EFFECTIVE AND SAFE?

A number of scientific studies point to the benefits of LED phototherapy. The ZEEZ mask has been tested by certified laboratories and complies with all US and EU directives regarding eye safety for humans.

HOW DOES ZEEZ WORK?

The light therapy behind the ZEEZ Sleep Mask is based on the science established at the Stanford Sleep Center during rigorous trials.  The two primary efficacy studies are:

ABOUT THE SCIENCE

WHAT IS JET LAG?

Jet lag, or dysrhythmia, occurs when the body clock is not synchronized with an air traveler's new time zone, causing a disruption of more than 50 physiological and psychological rhythms. Studies show that jet lag worsens with age, particularly after 50. Until recently, jet lag was dismissed as merely an unpleasant side effect of air travel. New research suggests that it also causes memory loss, shrinkage of parts of the brain, and negative side effects on blood pressure.

 

WHAT IS A CIRCADIAN RHYTHM?

We all have an internal clock that determines our wake/sleep cycle, or circadian rhythm.  This circadian rhythm normally matches our day/night cycle, but may be disrupted by jet travel across time zones, work shift changes (day shift to night shift and back again), or some insomnias where our sleep phase gets “out of sync”.  When your circadian rhythm is disrupted, you suffer fatigue, decreased concentration and productivity, and increased work errors, and inability to enjoy your surroundings.

 

HOW DO I SHIFT MY BODY CLOCK?

Our body clock responds to a variety of cues in our environment, the strongest of which is light. A pulse of sufficiently bright light at the appropriate time will move (or phase shift) our body clock forward (phase advance) or back (phase delay). As importantly, a period of appropriately timed light-avoidance i.e. total darkness will enhance the phase shift forward or back.
